Calculate Statistics - Initial Imbalance

The difference between the measured masses in and out of each balance point, called the Initial Imbalance, is included in the set of statistics. The calculation of the initial imbalance is the same as the mass balance restriction. Depending on the type of analysis, the equations can vary.

The default Element Attribute to which the initial imbalance result is written is named [element].ReconciledMassImbalance where [element] is the name of the balance point element (inventory, node, or process).

Where:

QIni = Mass flowing into the balance point for stream i.

QOuti = Mass flowing out of the balance point for stream i.

Δ Inventory = Mass inventory change in the balance point.

Imbalance = Mass imbalance for balance point.

i = ith flow

The difference between the measured energy in and out of each balance point, called the initial imbalance, is included in the set of statistics. The calculation of the initial imbalance is the same as the mass balance restriction.

The default Element Attribute to which the initial imbalance result is written is named [element].ReconciledEnergyImbalance, where [element] is the name of the balance point element (node, process, or heat exchanger).

QIni = Mass flowing into the balance point for stream i.

QOuti = Mass flowing out of the balance point for stream i.

HIni = Energy content of mass flowing into the balance point for stream i.

Houti = Energy content of mass flowing out of the balance point for stream i.

Imbalance = Mass imbalance for balance point.

i = ith flow
